- Virus test coming up next class (Wednesday, January 11th). Test topics include (but are not limited to)
- Chapter 17-3 - pathogenic viruses, examples, how they make us sick, viral transmission
- Chapter 45 - immune system - nonspecific body defences (skin, white blood cells, mucus, fever, interferon etc) and how they protect us, specific immune responses (antigen/antibody relationship) and how this leads to immunity, how vaccination works
- HIV - structure of the virus (diagram) - parts and function, transmission, infection (steps), prevention, AIDS (opportunistic diseases)
- Please take the time to prepare for this test.
- We will continue studying bacteria after the test on Wednesday.
